Musena Secondary School in Chirumanzu District now has a greatly improved educational environment thanks to funding from Japan. On 3 October, Ambassador Iwado attended the handover ceremony of newly completed facilities, including three furnished classroom blocks and a fence surrounding the school. These were completed through a project implemented by a local NGO, LID Agency.
Previously, the students and teachers at the school were lacking basic facilities, and they had to conduct their lessons in unsuitable makeshift classrooms without sufficient desks and chairs.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Ambassador Iwado said he hoped that the students would take advantage of the improved facilities and study harder. He also hoped that they would take care of the facilities provided by friends in Japan. The board chairperson of LID Agency, Mr. Blazio, expressed his gratitude for Japan’s support, which he said would contribute to poverty reduction through education. He also praised the great efforts made by the community which allowed the project to be successful.
